since then.

i have a pretty plant from trader joe’s, a couch cover from bed bath and beyond, a rug from world market and an epic lamp  from the kings canyon and karley. these are things to make my place more like home. i like these things.

this week i am working 39 hours at starbucks. i am making lattes and cappuccinos with sugar free vanilla and breve with no foam and extra hot and semi-dry and raw sugar with caramel sauce inside the cup and underneath and on top of the whip cream. my day is run by timers and the constant scan of the lobby and all things “ecosure.” these are things i do to serve my customers and my partners and to further learn the value of work and the value of the dollar. sometimes i like these things.

i coach the hurdlers at carpinteria highschool. i show them lead legs and trail legs and rhythm.. over and over again. i make them sweat and get frustrated but feel accomplished. these are things to grow these kids not just into better athletes, but into individuals who understand the value of struggling… who come to understand that it is through pain and work that you grow. i really like these things.

i am tired. i am stretched. i am learning.

i am thankful.

trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. then you will have strength for your body and healing for your bones.
