This evening a went on an easy run on the beach and attempted to do some “active” stretching that I used to do in track. It didn’t work out well. I tweaked my hamstring. It really wasn’t a difficult exercise… I used to do it for warm up all the time. On one leg you reach down and touch your toe and then you switch. That’s it. Easy. IF you are flexible, which I am not at all anymore apparently.
It made me realize that as people sometimes we forget how inflexible we are, until we try to be flexible and then it hurts.
Physical and mental flexibility are invaluable. I must exercise them both more often.
